A career in scaling people organizations that drive results.

Ethan Davis is a Global Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) with over twenty years of experience fueling company success through human capital. He leads HR through a global lens, supporting business growth and financial results by reshaping the future of HR — its function, impact and culture — aligned with business strategy. He serves as a guiding force for HR design, scalability, strategic global alignment and organizational change.
Mr. Davis is the CHRO at MCI, a multinational business process outsourcing and customer experience group of 8 subsidiaries with 10,000+ employees worldwide. He joined the company in 2003 and spent his early years rotating through training and quality, marketing, IT, analytics, operations and customer experience — building expertise across the business functions for which he would later drive HR strategies. His progressive HR career advanced through SVP, Recruiting & Employee Development; VP, Talent Acquisition; SVP, Human Resources; and CHRO.
Focused on maximizing revenue and profit growth by aligning business and HR strategies, he has contributed to 300% revenue growth — from $150M to $450M — while strengthening long-term labor-to-revenue ratios from 73% to 65%. He has enabled double-digit sustainable gross margin gains through management development and realignment of HR practices, including a new compensation structure, work-at-home market strategy, blended wage flexibility across brands, and centralized support functions.
During the company's rapid growth, Mr. Davis spearheaded the transformation of HR for scale, underpinning expansion of the employee base from 30 to more than 10,000 people across four countries — including a 476% workforce increase in under four years. Strategic initiatives have ranged from establishing a global shared services organization in South Africa and the Philippines, redesigning pay models and building an enterprise employee recognition platform, to advancing HR analytics and intelligence companywide.
Mr. Davis has been critical in enhancing business outcomes by guiding major transitions, playing a leading role in four company acquisitions — serving as a key figure in due diligence, decision-making and integration across 8 brands and 4 countries.
In the operational realm, he minimized business risk by heading the strategy to move the global workforce to virtual work through the COVID pandemic, and led disaster recovery of a 500-seat call center within a week following storm Atlas. He has tackled changing labor market dynamics and leveraged them to broaden the skills base, serving as a proactive change catalyst.
Through his visionary leadership, employee engagement rose 14.5%, quarterly eNPS scores climbed 76% globally, and the diversity index improved 22% — alongside sustained gains in inclusiveness, employee satisfaction and retention across country boundaries and cultures worldwide.
Mr. Davis holds an MBA from the University of Iowa, executive certificates from Wharton and Cornell, and is based in Sacramento, California.
